GIBSON LAW PC is located in Century City, near Beverly Hills, in West Los Angeles, California. We have an AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which means that our fellow attorneys have rated us as pre-eminent in both legal ability and ethics. We have been in business since 1996.

The founder and lead attorney of our firm is Richard Gibson. Mr. Gibson has been in practice since 1983. He was educated at Princeton University, the University of Chicago and the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Mr. Gibson spent the first ten years of his legal career as a bankruptcy associate for several large firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles. During that time, Mr. Gibson had a number of articles published in the American Bankruptcy Law Journal and the California Bankruptcy Law Journal, including “The New Law on Rejection of Collective Bargaining Agreements in Chapter 11: An Analysis of 11 U.S.C. Section 1113” 58 Am. Bankr. L. J. 325 (1984) and “Deprizio v. Established Preference Analysis: Another View on Indirect Preferences” 17 Cal. Bankr. L. J. (1989).

For several years in the 1990s, Mr. Gibson was a partner in the Downtown Los Angeles firm of Obregon, Gibson & Montgomery, where Mr. Gibson’s personal clients included Bank of America, First Interstate Bank of California and Security Pacific National Bank.

In 1996, Mr. Gibson established THE LAW OFFICES OF RICHARD H. GIBSON, A PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION, which changed its name to GIBSON LAW PC in 2005. The firm has always been located in Century City. The firm represents a large number of small to mid-sized businesses and individuals.
